The MX 237 Aerosol was produced from 1965 to 1979. It was removed from the market when Freon 11 & 12 were banned by The EPA and Federal Government. At that time; a blend of Freon 11 & 12 was non-flammable and complimented our products. No replacement aerosol product has been developed with the same non-flammable properties. I chose to bring back the aerosol and use the best aerosol available. It is slightly flammable and therefore we had to change our label to reflect the contents inside the can. You now have the option of aerosol or squirt bottle.
MX 237 is an organic, non-drying penetrating oil unlike any other on the
market. It doesn't contain petroleum distillates and is non volatile.
Upon application it will leave a protective film capable of protecting
metal against corrosion or rust considerably longer than any other oil.
It weathers the elements extremely well.
While the best prevention of corrosion is application of MX 237 prior to
exposure to corrosive conditions. MX 237 is extremely useful in
salvaging or freeing up pieces that are already corroded. Because it
will not evaporate after application; MX 237 will continue to penetrate
until the frozen adjoining surfaces are impregnated with oil to allow
freeing up or dis-assembly. Rust, scale carbon, or corrosion cannot
cling to metal surfaces after MX 237 has penetrated through.
